Dream Together Playground
@2025
Client: Playright Children’s Play Association
Lead architect: Tony Ip Green Architects Ltd.
Through adaptive reuse of the former Hung Hom Ferry Pier Public Transport Interchange, Dream Together Playground transforms obsolete infrastructure into Hong Kong’s first Adventure Playground. It reframes playscape design by treating landscape architecture as open-ended, supporting exploration, learning, and creativity.
The site is divided into two parts. One is a Public Open Space with dynamic play equipment fully compliant with safety standards. The other, the Charged Play Zone, deliberately breaks convention: non-prescriptive and unfinished, it functions as an evolving framework. Children actively modify and build within the space, becoming co-creators and redefining play as an ongoing process rather than passive consumption.
